Fusion Weightlifting is USA-W sanctioned club based in Manhattan (NYC). We’re a relatively new club, established in 2012, and are here to help spread the love of Olympic Weightlifting to others, post about our training, daily thoughts, and hopefully to educate others on how we Coach the lifts and athletes in training.
A big key to note is that, we are NOT here to rip on other coaches or program. We’ve developed our teaching techniques and programs based on our experiences working with great coaches in various fields from Weightlifting, Powerlifting, College Strength and Conditioning, and the NFL.
Some basic rules of conduct:
- Be respectful
- Have an open mind
- MUST be team oriented
- Repeat rule #1
Fusion Weightlifting Club Philosophy
Our teams focus is to gain as much exposure in the full lifts (snatch, clean and jerk) as possible, develop correct positioning, and balance of strength movements. You probably won’t see our lifters doing snatches off a deficit or other specialized exercises utilized by elite lifters. Mainly because our weightlifters come to us starting this sport later in life therefore exposure to the lifts is very important. This may seem “boring” but if you want to get better in Olympic weightlifting you have to learn the basics first.
Getting Started
To keep the strong supportive team culture and quality of coaching high, we have to limit our total team size. While we WISH we could accept every weightlifter and have an open gym policy (drop ins too), unfortunately this is New York City = price are high and spaces are limited. But hopefully soon enough we will have a bigger space and will be able to cater to all the dedicated weightlifters in New York City!
Long story short, if you are interested in joining our team feel free to contact us and we’ll set up a time to talk.
Stay strong!
