When it comes to Olympic Weightlifting, it’s clear cut, you either make the lift or you don’t.
Just “DO”
I try to enstill in my lifters to just “Do”- this mean to fully commit to the lift. Saying to just “Do” is MUCH easier than actually executing it. If you think about it, I’m asking my lifters to through a weight over their head and squat under it as quickly as possible so that it doesn’t crush him.
It’s a daunting task that seems simple but many things can go wrong. Weightlifters need to have the guts to forget about fear and have HEART. If you’re not fully committed to successfully lifting under the bar, that thousandths of a second in hesitation can make or break you. So next time you go for your max attempt just “Do“.
