If you think you know it all, don’t ask for my help, if you want me to give you the answer that you want, don’t ask for my help, if you’re doing stupid $hit like 30 snatches, don’t come to me and ask for help on your technique!
I’m sure there’s “That Guy” in every field but for whatever reason, in the fitness field, “That Guy” is EVERYWHERE! It’s tough because you want to help the best you can but their knowledge cup is already filled, and unfortunately usually filled with junk…
Everyones read this but I think it’s great!
A university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. He came to study with the master and after making the customary bows, asked her to teach him Zen. He then began to talk about his extensive doctrinal background and rambled on and on and on and on about the many sutras he had studied.
The master listened patiently and then began to make tea. When it was ready, she poured the tea into the scholar’s cup until it began to overflow and run all over the floor, all the while the scholar was rambling. The scholar then noticed what was happening and shouted, “Stop, stop! The cup is full; you can’t get anymore in.”
The master stopped pouring and said: “You are like this cup, you are full of ideas about Buddha’s Way. You come and ask for teaching, but your cup is already full. I can’t put anything in before I can teach you, you’ll have to empty your cup.
Team Fusion is HUGE on quality work and it amazes me how adamant people are about doing their way of training but yet ask for help??? It’s a shame, when you see someone work so hard yet execute bad reps, when they should’ve just kept it simple and focused on quality work. I’m glad that our crew has “emptied their cup” and are now getting stronger, honing on perfect technique, all the while doing quality work and not beating themselves down. In essence training smart!
Smart!
It’s seems many believe that if you have crappy technique, with a brutal program that you’re not prepared for EQUALS massive PR’s!
Only if that was true…
