Now that we’re all on the same page, Thank you for coming to visit the Team Fusion Weightlifting club’s page. We’re first excited to have a new club that’s get stronger and stronger by the day and to be able to share our experience with you guys.
We’re here to keep spreading the word on the Great Sport of Weightlifting. If you’re not familiar with Weightlifting, it’s an amazing sport that require strength, power, a LOT of technique, flexibility/mobility, and mental toughness. One of the more frustrating sports out there but there’s no better feeling when you hit a nice PR (personal record).
The sport is broken up into two movements:
- Snatch
- Clean and Jerk
The Snatch:
This movement is performed by lifting the barbell from the floor to overhead with locked out arms in one smooth motion. Seen here by 58k lifter Amanda Sandoval:
It’s a FAST and explosive lift that require a ton of technique. Also take note ladies, Amanda’s an international lifter and lifts BIG weight…yet she doesn’t look like a man! Lifting weights is not only amazing for your health but also could help get those long awaited goals…just saying…
The Clean and Jerk:
Put simply, this lift is broken up into two portions:
- Floor to the shoulders (racked position)
- Shoulders to above the head
Here is Alex Lee, an extremely proficient lifter, performing the Clean and Jerk (Split):
As you can see you can hit some big numbers with this lift!
