We want to wish nothing but the best for Alex and Gill as they start their new adventure in Miami at the big U. Alex was our team captain, a great leader, and a dedicated lifter. Despite having to deal with Alex’s meatball ways, we kept him on the team anyways :)…but I gotta give him credit, he did grow out of it.
I can recall first watching Alex attempt a 90k clean that was seriously one of THE ugliest lifts I’ve ever seen. A nasty over pull and the bar just slamming him down into the platform. Now most people would quit but he kept going and going…he of course missed every lift but then he had the balls to goto 100k?! Oh man was that frightening…I thought he nearly ripped his arm off on that lift 🙂
Despite Alex’s meatball ways we will miss him and Gill. Gill was one of the most supportive wives, as Alex dedicated a lot of time and effort to weightlifting. She even went to all the competitions and did the videos for us, thanks Gill!
It’s been fun watching Alex develop from this:

To this, in just under a year of training with us:
Wish we had ONE more competition cycle and he would’ve hit the numbers we set out for…but I guess business school is a bit more important than weightlifting >:|
We’ll miss you guys and thank you for everything you’ve done for our club!
Stay strong,
