There’s a reason why we have Weightlifting Coaches, mainly to steer meatballs from doing dumb shit. Yet I still see many guys thinking that a weekend Olympic Weightlifting course, natural strength, and/or Weightlifting forums give them insight on how to actually succeed in Weightlifting. While it gives you a small sample of what a qualified Weightlifting Coach can do, it still pales in comparison. I’m actually quite surprised how many people are held back by not listening to a qualified Coach, maybe it’s the arrogance of youth or just that youtube is making everyone an expert at everything?
I find the majority of these so called “Weightlifters” that act like this are those that are naturally talented, but yet don’t realize that their performance can be catapulted with a qualified Coach. The only thing that’s inhibiting them is their ego and just straight being a meatball= dumb ass. Hell if Lu Xiaojun is getting Coached during his warm ups before a COMPETITION, I think you can shut your trap and listen up too:
I mentioned these meatballs as so called “Weightlifters” because a good majority of these meatballs don’t actually compete but try to act as a Weightlifter. Let’s get this straightened out now, a Weightlifter is one that actually COMPETES (more than once), and is focused on the sport, plain and simple.
So if you’re thinking about Olympic Weightlifting and want to compete, please do yourself a favor and find a qualified Coach. You only have a limited amount of time to train and compete, utilize your time wisely.
Man I sound angry…haha…I really just HATE wasted talent!
Train smart,
