Olympic Weightlifting has an interesting sport appeal because pretty much anyone can pick up a bar and if you have decent athleticism you can start to excel in Weightlifting pretty easily…
Hate It or Love It
*This has nothing to do with my point but still a great song :0
I love it and hate it for the simplicity of the sport. Love it because many people are interested in the sport by watching videos and self coaching themselves. BUT hate it because those same self taught guys can be pretty difficult to work with, especially if they are relatively strong.
What a Waste…
As a Coach, one of the most frustrating things to watch is talent wasted due to stupidity and ego. The Weightlifters that naturally excel and won’t listen because of their past success on their own, will inevitable hit a ceiling. Without a qualified Coach, the Weightlifter is staring at a STEEP hill of mediocrity.
The Benefits of a Coach
Having a qualified Weightlifting coach by your side is invaluable. A Weightlifting Coach will help you develop efficiently as a Weightlifter and help you avoid wasted time spent on needless movements. Train smart not just hard, otherwise you’re taxing your body for minimal or zero benefit.
Back in the day when I was getting into Weightlifting I was so focused on finding the perfect program I wasted countless hours over the internet, when I could’ve been resting, eating, or doing regen. Had I found a Coach sooner and I would’ve excelled much faster and avoided my back injury. So learn from my mistake and find a Weightlifting Coach through the USA-Weightlifting site: CLICK HERE.
Finally I leave you with this thought:
If Lu Xiaojun, an Olympic and World Champion, still needs a Coach, what do you think you need?
Train smart,
