I get a lot of questions regarding Olympic Style Weightlifting and what to focus on. Just like the fitness field, everyone wants to jump into the expert level but they fail to forget about the basics. The frustrating part about this is that those same guys don’t even have a Coach! Yet they see seem to believe if they do X specialized exercise it’ll bring that long awaited PR??

While these two movements are beneficial to a point, depending on your needs, you have to remember these two lifters are both international lifters= they train for a living. They’ve way surpassed the basics and can do any lifts blind folded.

The point is that you’re most likely like the rest of us, regular Average Joes that have a job or studying and can’t afford to train x10 a week.
So keep it simple and focus on:
- Keeping the bar tight to your body- to do this, focus on positioning and your first pull. If your pull is off then everything else will start to fall apart….Never underestimate the basics!
- Use your legs- Team Fusion focuses on a straight pull- after the double knee bend you want to make sure the extension is STRAIGHT up and then STRAIGHT down, not BACK.
